Beginning Practical Computer (for beginner)

In this Beginning Practical Computer Course students will learn a total of four areas:

  1. Intro to Computer

  2. Windows 95

  3. Microsoft Word

  4. Internet & World Wide Web

Intro to Computer

You will learn: How and why a computer works, how to turn on the computer, computer terminology, how to plug in computer and its peripherals, the purpose and use of software, operating system, how to buy a computer, how to choose the right printer for your home of office.

Windows 95

You will learn: How to use the mouse, navigate the desktop, how to size windows, use the scroll bars, work with dialog boxes, use the Start menu, modify the taskbar, use the recycle bin, shut down and restart Windows 95, prepare diskettes for data, create new folder, create and save files, create shortcuts, change icons and icon names, create, move, copy, and delete files and folders, customize your desktop.

Microsoft Word

You will learn: How to create, edit, open and close documents, save and revise a document, format document, change fonts sizes, color, the spell checker and thesaurus.

Internet & World Wide Web             

You will learn:  How the internet works, ISP, search engine, web browsers, How to register for FREE internet access, how listen to music on internet.

Course Length 16 hours

Class Schedule

Weekday Class: Tues-Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon (3 weeks)
Weeknight Class: Tues-Thursday 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (3 weeks)
Weekend Classes: Sat or Sun 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (4 weeks)
